We were so fortunate to have the amazing Indigenous Education Consultant, Ms. Kelly Milne, visit our SSES classrooms and share her wisdom with our students. Here's a peek at the incredible learning experiences that unfolded:

🌱 Kindergarten with Mrs. Sveinson:
Ms. Milne led a powerful Treaty teaching, where students created promises to each other, deepening their understanding of respect and responsibility. During Storymaker time, Room 111 students even put on a puppet show featuring the 7 Sacred Teachings animals! 🦅🐻🦋

🎨 Grade 3 with Mrs. Sveinson:
Ms. Milne shared Treaty promises and teachings with the Grade 3 class, inspiring students to create beautiful drawings rooted in oral storytelling. These creative works helped bring Indigenous teachings to life in the most vibrant way! 🌿✨

🌍 Mrs. Michaluk’s Class:
Our friends in Room 108 proudly shared their class Land Acknowledgement with Ms. Milne. Together, they explored the 7 Sacred Teachings, drummed to powerful rhythms, and created a nature mobile to celebrate their connections to Mother Earth. 🌸🌍
